Goals:

Encourage and support student interest in rural health
practice and research

Develop new interdisciplinary rural training sites

Address issues of health and health care access in participating
rural communities
Students can:

Join a rural interest group

Visit innovative rural practices and see interdisciplinary
teamwork in action

Take an interdisciplinary course in rural health

Help find solutions to a problem in a rural community

Learn about teamwork in clinical and community-based
experiences

Have guidance in conducting research in rural health
Rural practitioners can:

Address issues of importance to the health of their
communities with student and faculty support

Teach interdisciplinary trainees about rural health

Extend health care access through involvement of trainees
