Coordinator of Continuing Education Activities
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in healthcare or education is preferred. At least one year of experience in face-to-face or on-line continuing education. Competency in Microsoft Office and Access; experience with Moodle or Crystal Reports preferred.
Duties/Responsibilities: 1) Initiate and maintain effective relationships with a variety of representatives from healthcare agencies in a five-county area to assess educational and workforce needs, identify strategies, and implement and evaluate programs and projects; 2) plan and coordinate health professions continuing education activities and projects; 3) evaluate outcomes of educational activities and monitor quality improvement projects; 4)maintain program records according to Area L AHEC standards; 5) design program brochures, marketing materials, newsletters, reports and other communications; 6) plan program budgets and monitor program finances to assure fiscal accountability and closeout; 7) input data into appropriate data systems to track and manage continuing education events and 8) activities and implement special projects as assigned by the President.
Skills/Requirements: The position requires that the candidate have very strong interpersonal, organizational, and meeting facilitation skills as well as the ability to balance a complex schedule of programs, projects, timelines, and deadlines. The ability to communicate and work effectively with numerous health professionals in a variety of settings is necessary. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively in writing and/or verbally and will be comfortable with public speaking. The ability to manage a large volume of work and adapt to changes in both individual project(s) and the healthcare environment is essential. Some light lifting and moving ability is expected. A valid driver’s license is required.
