FREE online course: Service-Learning

This course exposes students to the foundational principles of service and leadership within health care, volunteering, healthcare skills, health careers, underserved populations, and legal/ethical issues in health care.

Health Careers Day on “The Hill”

During this event, high school students have the opportunity to learn more about health career professions through interactive sessions and seminars.

It will be at UNC Chapel Hill from 9am-5pm on April 4th, 2024.

Collegiate Health Careers Exploration (only available for middle school students in Wilson County)

Thanks to a partnership between Area L AHEC and the Foundation YMCA of Wilson, middle school students enrolled in the Y-GIG program can take part in our afterschool 10-week program, Collegiate Health Careers Exploration. Every Thursday afternoon from March 7th to May 16th students will join us at Barton College to learn about college life and health careers! From playing volleyball on center campus to touring an ambulance, students have a blast!
