Located in Rocky Mount, Area L AHEC is one of nine centers in the NC AHEC Program and serves Edgecombe, Halifax, Nash, Northampton, and Wilson counties.
|Area L AHEC Celebrates 50 Years of Service|
|In September 2022, Area L AHEC will celebrate 50 years of service. We are thankful for all the support we have received the last 50 years and the partnerships that allow us to achieve our mission.
This short film by Dr. Lawrence M. Cutchin tells the history of AHEC and how it all began.
|“After graduating from the AHEC (Scholars) Program, I say that I would love to do it again. It was such a great experience and really opened me up to different connections, both professionally and cordial…Don’t sell yourself short. Make sure they give you the opportunity to shadow all of the different aspects of the medical field and I highly encourage you to take the opportunity because you never know where you will actually end up.”
