When is the Library/Information Center open?
The Area L AHEC Information Center is open from 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. Arrangements for after hours use must be made two days in advance. Call (252)972-6958 to schedule. Computers are available for word processing and Internet applications.

Is it possible to borrow materials from the library?
Books and videos may be borrowed for two weeks. Materials may be renewed by phone for an additional two week period. Journals may not be borrowed.

Does the library offer literature searching?
UNC Health Sciences Library licensed resources are available for free end user searching to those with a UNC-CH password. Mediated searches are also available to these individuals, and others, upon request. Free Internet resources, such as PubMed, may be searched by all users free of charge.

Is there a charge for photocopies or printing?
Area L AHEC students may copy or print up to 30 pages free of charge. There will be a $.10 per page charge thereafter. All other users will be charged $.10 per page for printing or copying.

What if the Library/Information Center does not own the item that I need?
If Information Services can obtain a book, video, or an article free of charge, then there will be no charge to the user. If Information Services is billed for an article, the amount will be passed on to the requester with no additional handling fees.
