What is public health education?
Public health education offers services and programs with an emphasis placed on local health departments and social services departments. The Area L AHEC public health education director works with local social services departments and public health departments to provide continuing education and technical assistance to all disciplines.
What can Area L AHEC Public Health Education do for you?
Boards of Health
In an effort to assist local boards of health and boards of trustees with their responsibilities of making healthcare policies, Area L AHEC collaborates with the North Carolina Association of Boards of Health and local hospital trustees. Dinner educational meetings, as well as workshops designed to orient boards of health members to a variety of procedural matters inherent to their responsibilities, are offered to area participants.
Technical Assistance
The Director of Public Health Education can offer help with, or referral to, a wide variety of information services and the following types of assistance: grant writing, institutional training, educational needs assessment, and technical assistance.
Did You Know?
Area L AHEC can provide customized training and education for the staff at your agency. The programs are provided on a contractual basis at a reasonable rate.
